The most important thing is not the road. In fact, where Nathan Drake goes, there is no road…As usual a rogue and unrepentant adventurer, Drake, is back again for a rollercoaster ride in the mountains, jungle, and the most dangerous places on the planet, because he just can’t help it –adventure runs through his veins! But this path is one that’s secondary. Uncharted 4 tells the traditional story of bang, bang, bang, but more specifically, it probes the desire of a man who wants to settle a score with his past so he can begin looking towards his future. Uncharted 4 is a conclusion, an epilogue, the extra bit of soul that the franchise so desired for years – which I desired for years. Playing this video-game, I experienced so many emotions, i.e. laughter, trembling, shuddering. And in the end, I finished the game amazed, with tears at the shocking discovery I made at the edge of an idyllic beach.
FORM AND CONTENT
I first came across the story of Nathan back in 2007 when Uncharted came out. Back then, looking for the grave of Sir Francis Drake and other early exploits left me with a fascinating, disturbed feeling of a universe which was both beautiful and eccentric. Uncharted, let us be clear, was never conspicuous with its gameplay ideas. Climb, jump, shoot, run… The franchise has chosen to rely on basic concepts to orchestrate and stunningly achieve the main goal: provide a game that will keep gamers busy and hungry for more.

But that’s not all. Naughty Dog, an American video game developer which was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment, has learned from the previous versions of Uncharted and has come up with a great storyline in which adventure is dominant and the fighting is still not tiring, even if at times it’s somewhat repetitive. Uncharted 2 began with an adventurer looking for the lost pirate colony of Libertalia in the Malagasy coast while going back and forth about romance and marriage. In Uncharted 3, the female protagonist, Elena, is introduced when we come across her in the middle of the desert. The game ended and we were forced to leave Nathan with his desires for a normal life and all the promise that such an existence would bring. Uncharted 4 takes advantage of this by introducing plot shifts that immediately raise the emotional stakes of his character and make them the main engine of the epic. This is how heroes are made. It was time to uncover the origins of the Nathan; what made him into what he is and what were the inner workings of his psyche. Uncharted 4 gives us that.
"The story we've built up around Nathan Drake is going to create an interesting dilemma inside yourself… As you go on these adventures, which are fun and adrenaline-drenched, players are completely invested in these high-action moments, but, at the same time, we're torn inside by the people we're putting in jeopardy and the choices we're making,” Bruce Straley, "Uncharted 4" director (http://www.ibtimes.com/uncharted-4- thiefs-end- family-affair-said to International Business Times.nathan-drakes- farewell-2348164)
The Last of Us, a critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama, has played a major role in the intimate dynamics of Uncharted 4. Ever since this beautifully anguished experience was gifted to us by the studio, Naughty Dog could no longer make do with developing a simple Hollywood blockbuster. Uncharted 4 therefore exceeded the basic framework of GST.
Confrontation is not all there is in Uncharted 4; there are also times of transitions, of turning the tables in this epic game. One can find them in the high-stakes conversations that take place, as well as the thousand and one little moments where the game pauses and breathes. The protagonists have time to interact, never leaving the side of the player, who is living each suspenseful moment frame by frame, until they are called upon to act. Uncharted 4 positions its narration at the heart of its gameplay, and thus it successfully proves to be an essential part ofthe entire experience.
